Bay Area Sonoma to Capitola Dive buddy
Hello everyone,
Looking to see who dives in these areas. I am up and down the coast for Surfing but not so much with diving. I have full equipment and light experience. Been Eying a few hidden gems which I grew up around by Half moon Bay. Random thought. Anyone ever looked around Kirby's cove. The Rips maybe to extreme due to the vortex of swells and wind into the channel under the GGB but its an idea to check out. Peace everyone. Capitola vis is not the best. Actually the turbidity was like swimming blind

Re: Bay Area Sonoma to Capitola Dive buddy
Just surfed Linda Mar, decided to take a look under. I dove linda mar today the south end by the old train station house on the cliff, vis was about 8' the tide was to harsh so I left. But i was really surprised how nice it was down under.
Standing above on the bluff where the old train station house is at, I noticed really light blue spot out front. I'm guessing must be a nice spot to dive. anyone up for diving lindamar in a week or two the weather will be awesome |

http://www.spearboard.com/showthread.php?t=86770 I personally don't dive this area, don't think the risk is worth the reward, but others do. Post some pictures of fish if you go though, there is no doubt that this stretch has fish. |

Re: Bay Area Sonoma to Capitola Dive buddy
Just seen this post. I been out of town for a bit.
Actually I might swing by Linda mar this weekend, 75 degree weather this entire week. If the wind is down and the swell is calm ( luck) I may give it a go. Honestly Carmel and every where in the area is fantastic. Sometimes the drive just isn't worth it specially when your trying to do something in The City. |

Best diving I've done in this area is as follows:
1) Head south from Carmel on Highway 1 2) Park your at an "undisclosed location" before Bixby Bridge, but after Monastery Beach. 3) Hike down to the little cove down below Highway 1 with your gear on your back. 4) Enjoy the pristine untouched beauty, one descent at a time.
