WTB: Travel Pole Spear
Looking to buy a used lower costing pole spear that can break down and fit in a suitcase. I am living in Trinidad and Tobago currently and they do not sell them down here. I would have to get it shipped down from a freight forwarding company in Miami so anyone close to there could just drop it at their office, if not I would be willing to pay shipping to Miami from where ever the spear is located.
Thanks |

Mako makes an inexpensive multi-piece pole spear.
I'd go that route, or spend more $$$ and go for a foldspear. |

Re: WTB: Travel Pole Spear
$$$ is definitely the limiting factor here, especially when I would have to pay shipping to the freight forwarder in Miami, then pay shipping to Trinidad, then pay customs and duty and VAT. Also, do you think the Mako 6'7" has enough length for the clear tobago reef water?

Re: WTB: Travel Pole Spear
That might be on the shorter side of things for clear water... But you can also get 12" tips (sea stringer, spearfishing world, etc) that can extend the length a foot.
Maybe a mako spear and a couple of 12" tips would be a good setup? |

Why not get a gun shipped from Grenada? I know a few local businesses here that sell beuchat and JBL. Yea, the duties would be high, but shipping would be cheaper. I know guys in TnT that find ways of bringing in their Riffe Euro 120's

Re: WTB: Travel Pole Spear
You could always buy two mako pole spears and use the middle and top sections from one to extend the other another three feet. That would give 11+ feet depending on if you get another tip. Plus you'd be known as the guy with the long spear by all the ladies!
