It definitely depends on where you are looking. A few spots I go to look like they could be awesome. Weather looks good too. Know one knows until they jump in the water, might try to get out there this weekend.

Deeper water will probably be good, cold and clear. I think I will take the gamble.

Nah, it's gonna be terrible. Y'all should probably just stay home.

Just got back from around big rock. The viz was terrible. I could hardly see my fins. Nothing seen and nothing taken. I was freediving from the shore.

Re: Malibu Conditions Permathread

I just got back from near county line. The vis was 5-10 feet but it started to get better further out. Not as nice as it looks from PCH.

Nothing worth bothering with. I didn't stay very long though. I'm planning to try again tomorrow.

Just got out at CL. Inside and outside terrible. Not bad in the bed. Hazy 15-20. 58 deg water. Kelp is flourishing. Nothing taken.

Just got back from deer creek. 5-10 foot visibility, quite murky, strong surge. Saw no fish worth taking, only short lobsters, but did grab some urchin.

Re: Malibu Conditions Permathread

I went to Hawaii to chase numbers, first California dive since november and meanwhile winter happened! It's cold viz is alright in lower bu, surprisingly... pinned a ling to a rock stupid deep, lost him when I got the spear loose... then lost my gun while pulling the mess up. Guess I was due, haven't lost a gun in 4 years... I will look for bugs now. lots of life out, time bust out the 7mil.
