Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
Sachuest Point pockets of 5 foot vis which dropped to 3 around 1pm. You just have to wedge yourself in between soe rocks and wait for something to swim in. 1 bass and 1 tog. It was cloudy like silted up from the river of rain, especially as the tide went out. Still worth getting in.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
Hey green kayak kings guy, I've seen you out there a few times. I'm the red Hobie trimaran guy, last time we were out there same time as you was probably 3 weeks ago. Did you have much luck that day? We saw a ton of taug but many undersized or barely legal. We took home 4. Vis was maybe 6-8 feet.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
Full report- Capt Paul invited me aboard for a trip on West End Charters. The stars aligned, kids on the bus, after topping off the fluids we cleared the Narrows to less than 1' chop. The skies were bright, the wind right, the tide all came together. He's a die hard hook & liner and had his arsenal of rods and green crabs.
We set the hook and in minutes I splashed in. The water was warm and green and viz shootable. After a nice breathe up, I dropped on the "shed". It's a pile of granite that has a roof on it and you can lay inside and wait. The tide was ripping, as my eyes adjusted, their in front me were scup, small sea bass and snapper blues. The first Tog swam by, not a monster, but 18"+. As I raised the barrel and lined up, his fat old uncle came around the corner- WHACK! Through the eye socket! Boy it has been a long drought being in the water and felt great to be in my element, for fun. I checked in with Paul and told him the fish were here and he had already broke one off in the rocks. A few more drops being picky and just enjoying the freedom and the moment, I see a big ole chinner up under a ledge. He spooked and took the back door to the drop off. As I made drop after drop, creeping along, I catch a movement of gray- the tank tog was in another hole and turning to the back door again. He made a slow turn left, I was in a good spot and took the shot. Having flash backs to grouper hunting in Florida, he holed up, silted up the hole and I surfaced holding my float line. After a good 3/min breathe up, I casually swam down the line and he was wedged up good. After a tug or 2, he wasn't having it. I surfaced and remembered there was a back door to this cave. My plan was to give just enough slack and see if he would swim out the back. I dropped for the 4th time, gave some slack and Togzilla came out just enough to grab his tail and shag his ass out! But, as I pulled all my shooting line from the hole I was 4' shy of a breathe of air. He was well strung, so I wasn't worried about a tear off and hesitantly let the line go. After another breathe up hanging on the rock in the ripping tide, I dropped again, with my float line in hand, unstrung my shooting line pulled it through the hole and he was mine! My mistake was not looking at my shaft clearing the granite fully and as I swam back up somehow it caught my shoulder and "Snap" ! Broke the shaft. Now I'm not graceful by any means and kind of like a bull in a china shop at times, and I swim with purpose and my chunky self snapped that thing like nothing. If anything I would expected to bend it not break it, oh well. We moved off the spot, the tide had changed bringing in dirty water, all I had was my long gun so my day was over in the water. On the way back, looking at my muzzle and mr tog had bashed the hell out of that while he was fighting to not become fish sticks! All in all, a fantastic day, albeit short, it was well deserved and needed. Hope Flounder still has that Aimrite for sale. I will rehab mine over the winter between spearfishing videos and diaper changes. Thanks Capt for a great day.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
Watch Hill this AM -is always a little rough on the incoming tide; strong currents stirring up particles - 6 to 8 foot vis in the reef, 10 - 12+ ft vis in deeper water. Some nice togs, large school of juvenile bass. At times the hoards of anglers were challenging to contend with - kept me away from the sweet part of the reef. Anyway, a good day.
