Reef Monitoring is BACK teaming up with Guy Harvey and is inviting all divers to come out and participate in a Lionfish Safari!

Thanks to your participation, last years was the largest single-day lionfish safari put on and we are going to make this year bigger and better!

This two-day event will be held September 9-11, 2016.
Diving day is Saturday the 10th, weigh-in is on Sunday the 11th. Weigh-in will be held at the Guy Harvey Outpost Resort on St. Pete Beach.

Cash prizes, awesome raffle prizes, give-a-ways, Guy Harvey autographed merch, activities for the kids, food, drinks, music, a GREAT TIME!

Our scientists will be on-site to interact with you! We will be demonstrating our research in dissecting lionfish and can answer any questions you may have. All lionfish will be used for research and food. That's right! The chefs at the Guy Harvey Resort will be cooking them up for a tasting at the weigh-in!

Flyer and Rules/Registration form are attached. Sponsorship opportunities available!!

Returning as a sponsor and vendor Lionfish Striker.

We use the Lionfish Striker on every research dive because it is the safest device for our research divers to use while they are working. The cap allows them to perform research and work without worrying about getting stuck by the tips.

Reef Monitoring uses and endorses Lionfish Striker.

Re: Guy Harvey Lionfish Safari - Sept 9-11, 2016

Special thanks goes out to Ryan and Seth and everyone at Tanks-A-Lot Dive Charters! They are THE premier dive charter in Pinellas County with outstanding trips to the Gulf.

They have been great sponsors of Reef Monitoring over the years. They have graciously donated a gift cert for a free dive charter to our prize table.

In addition, Reef Monitoring has booked their boat for the diving day Saturday September 10th! It will be a two-tank dive in the 60-65' range on some natural ledges. They are seeing lionfish in this range pretty regularly.

We have spots available, contact us directly to get all the details and lock in your spot!

Thanks Ryan!!!

A returning sponsor for this year is the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. CMA has been a fantastic long-term sponsor of Reef Monitoring since the beginning. Winter the Dolphin inspired our Reef Clean-Ups and they have also partnered up with us on a recent research project.
Visiting CMA is always a good time for the entire family.
CMA will be on-site at the Guy Harvey Outpost during the weigh-in as well so be sure to come out and meet some of their excellent team!

Thank you to the entire staff at Clearwater Marine Aquarium!

Thank you Charles CJ Duffie with Neritic Diving for some AWESOME Lionfish Eliminator Polespears.

These modular aluminum polespears are some of the finest poles you will find out there. Has grip built into it and is extendable if you wish to have a longer pole.

These are some BADASS poles!

Thank you to E-Sea Rider for being a returning sponsor. Their seats always make rough seas more comfortable. Simply put, their bean bag seats are AWESOME. Even when used on shore they are the most durable and comfortable bean bag chairs out on the market.
I've slept on them in the Middle Grounds, at the dock, in my living room....

9 out of 10 chiropractors surveyed agree that E-Sea Rider bags are bad for their business!

E-Sea Rider has long been a HUGE sponsor of events in the fishing and diving community. They give a ton back to the community and we are thankful they are continuing their sponsorship with us.
Expect to see a few of their top notch bean bag chairs on the prize table and be ready to take yours home!

Thank you Pat Bennett and all your crew!

A new sponsor for this year and for Reef Monitoring is Whole Foods!
Whole Foods is one of the largest retailers of quality healthy food products. They have also stepped up in our area and recently started carrying Lionfish!! Ramping up the commercial market for Lionfish is the best way to raise awareness of Lionfish as an excellent food source and will encourage continued harvest of Lionfish as a sustainable food source. Having Whole Foods involved in that plan will help tremendously.
Reef Monitoring looks forward to a continued partnership with Whole Foods.

THANKS!!

Attention all you boat owners!
DiveBudz is back as a sponsor for this year!
Ed Roberts runs a great operation. DiveBudz is your one-stop shopping for in-water boat maintenace! Hull cleanings, zinc replacement, survey and inspection, prop pulling and servicing! DiveBudz also specializes in salvage and recovery including everything from raising sunken boats to finding your $300 pair of Costa's that took a dive off of your dock!

DiveBudz has been a long time sponsor of Reef Monitoring and we are glad to have them back. I have personally used Ed's services and highly recommend!

Ed has graciously put FOUR gift certificates for services on the prize table. If you own a boat, keep your eyes peeled for them!!

Thank you Bay Area Corvette Club for your continued support. Donations like yours help fund our research which is turned into tools that we can educate and promote awareness on current conditions in our local waters. The more education and awareness that is available helps drive preservation of our local marine habitats.

The Bay Area Corvette Club is an outstanding civic group that gives a TON back to the local community. If you have a Corvette, check them out!

Thank you

Special thanks goes out to the FSDA!
The Florida Skin Divers Association (FSDA) is a volunteer, non-profit coalition of Dive Clubs and individuals bound together by our common interest in sport, skin and scuba diving. The FSDA is the oldest and largest independent organization of divers in the state of Florida. It is governed by an unpaid board of directors who are active in the diving community. The board works hard to promote diving and organize membership to protect their diving rights.

Thanks to the generosity of the FSDA, the 1st place prize for Most Lionfish is $1,000!!! That's right folks. If you bring in the most lionfish you will be handed a check for $1,000!!

Thank you so much to the FSDA, all their clubs and everyone that supports this fantastic organization!
