Out of JP 8-7-18
Went H&L for AJ's at the Spring north of the Mexican Pride. We got 1 at 37". That was it for the spring. Couldn't get anymore hookups. Then, we went to the Mexican Pride. Had a boat anchored over the wreck. Tied to raise him on the radio. Either his radio was off or I got ignored. They weren't catching anything. I looked around a few hundred yards from the wreck. Found the AJ's schooling. Dropped a live blue runner and hooked up in less than our 5 min. arrival as the 2 guys watched. 15 min. later the 39" AJ was aboard. Followed the track lines back to the hookup area. Dropped another blue runner in and hooked up. Both guys on the other boat watching. 20 min. later another 39" AJ in our fish box. The other boat a big 0. As we were cleaning the bloody deck. The other boat pulled anchor and left. We had 3 nice AJs for smoked fish spread and headed in. We just missed the onshore heavy rain storms upon our return.
