Boston Whaler GLS 13’4” - SOLD
SOLD
Ultra Rare – 1989 Boston Whaler GLS 13’4” I am hoping this boat will go to a spearfisherman, so I will discount 5% from the current posted craigslist price. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/boa/4556595770.html DIMENSIONS Length.............................13 feet 4 inches Beam...............................5 feet 5 inches Length/Beam Ratio........2.5:1 Draft................................6 inches Weight...........................320 pounds Standard to 410 pounds SS Limited Current Engine..............2007 25 HP 4 stroke Suzuki Fuel Efficiency............. 7-9 miles per gallon with driver + 1 passenger Capacity........................6 Persons Swamped Capacity....1,600 pounds $6,250 – NO LOW BALLERS > Reasonable offers considered. The engine received its 100 hour service last week and was issued a clean bill of health. Had the compression tested and it was good. Engine has been professionally serviced at the recommended intervals since purchased. This is not your ordinary 13 footer, this is an 89’ GLS. This is the only 89’ GLS on the market in the world right now. This is the first year the GLS was manufactured. It has a larger and roomier console than later years. This boat has a lot of versatility. It can easily be converted back into a 6 person yacht tender. When the boat was purchased, I was hook and line fishing a lot. I will include a nice Kodak bait tank into the purchase if interested in making this a hook & line fishing machine. The last four years, the boat has solely been used for spearfishing adventures. If you got the balls, this boat will get you there. This boat has done 100+ mile trips offshore, dominates the Coronado Islands & the local kelps. Here are some videos of our offshore adventures in this little boat: Killing it offshore Blue Water Spearfishing off Southern California - YouTube Coronado Islands Spearfishing Yellowtail - Early Season Paddy Hopping - YouTube This boat was out at the 302 this weekend trolling for boiling football size Bluefin under fast moving terns and shooting Yellowtail on paddies. If you are going out soon, limited paddies between the 302 and the 182, was more productive south between the 302 and 371. Round trip, the boat only burned 10 gallons of gas. For two guys, that equates to 20 bucks per person to fish offshore starting at 5:30 am to 3:00 pm. How can you beat that? A jet ski is not even that cheap to run offshore. The engine ran the entire time! Last edited by Shootin&Reelin; 07-19-2014 at 10:01 AM. |

Nice boat. I have the whalers cousin boat, a 2003 Mckee 14. Put a 50hp and some trim tabs this boat rides out.
Whats the farthest offshore youve been? |

Re: Boston Whaler GLS 13’4”
I have not taken it that far in terms of miles from the coast, maybe 30-35 miles.
It is more the total miles covered in a trip. I head south and west early ( 30 miles south x 30 west) swing north for another 40 miles .... Head back in the afternoon with the wind at our back. This little boat has done 120 mile trips with all the zig zaging we do looking for paddies. |
