Go pro troubles

I have a GoPro hero 4 black edition
I am having a problem with it locking up and not functioning
It either just locks up and none of the buttons work not even the power button
Or it says busy.
It is really starting to piss me off.
I'm not getting any dive footage because of it.
My hero 3 black edition never did this
I'm ready to get rid of this one and go back to the 3
Does anyone know what's going on or had this problem
I have tried calling tech support and do updates but nothing is working
I'm wondering if I should buy a different SIM card
I have the sandisc 30 and a 60
Someone help a brother out please!

Yeah definitely try a different SIM card. Some cards cause the GoPro to stop recording after a few seconds. And make sure the firmware is updated to the latest although it sounds like you already did. Honestly I don't think the 4 offers much I need that the 3+ doesn't have but that's just me.

Re: Go pro troubles

Yea I think so
My 64 gb card doesn't seem to be having a problem
Only the 32,the problem is i use my PlayStation to save and edit videos
And the PlayStation can't handle the 64gb card and won't play them
I guess I will have to buy another 32 gb card
It's weird cause it just started doing this a couple months ago
The 32 card has always worked fine.
But maybe it's from me using it and erasing data over and over and it's wore out or something.
I don't kno,I'm not much of a tech computer guy I just kill fish .(haha)
Thx!

Re: Go pro troubles

Have had much better results from the Lexar 32 GB cards than the SD 32 GB cards.

You've probably done this... but I'll throw it out just in case you haven't: GoPro recommends frequent reformatting of the memory cards.
Give it a shot if you haven't already.

Re: Go pro troubles

Another potential problem is the memory card being a fake.
In recent times there is a flood of fake sd cards with brand names like SanDisk, etc. They even have the hologram in the package. Unfortunately shady manufacturers overseas can very easily create fakes of very popular items. These are sold through eBay and such. I had name brand sd cards fail, or others who did not have the stated capacity from the get-go.
Therefore, it is best to only buy memory cards from reputable stores like Amazon, or SanDisk, Samsung directly, even if the cost is a little higher.

That is def good advice, pay a few dollars more and don't risk losing a priceless memory for a few dollars.

Re: Go pro troubles

Problems I have run into were caused by card damage done by trying to run them in adaptors to watch them on my TV. Never us a cheap adaptor and do this. Always copy to your hard drive or a portable hard drive or flash drive and then view it. Running it from the card is bad for them and reduces their life.
