Fish Finder Advice
I know I'm opening the can of worms here but I'm looking to buy a 25-27' center console in the next year and am wondering what kind of electronics to look for on the boat or buy once I get it. I'll be diving and fishing (trolling and bottom fishing) on the east coast and in the gulf. Basically I want something that can do it all but am not looking for any expert type gear running a huge price point.

Re: Fish Finder Advice
Just my opinion but I have three units on my dash. The Humminbird and Lorance that feature sideshooting are without a doubt the best. I have located structure that I had no idea was there even after fishing there for yrs. The price points of course do vary. Do your homework to find features and depth options that work for you.

The Go 9 is something I've been looking at. Is the TotalScan transducer that comes packaged with it a pretty solid piece of equipment? I've never used it

I just added the GO 7 to my boat and love it. The transducer is solid, great bottom imaging.

Re: Fish Finder Advice
Until the others get a lower frequency transducer the Garmin and Furuno units have far better SS for finding bottom.Even adding all the sales weasel's claims 455 khz only penetrates a little better than half of 260 and far less than 165.
The Garmin has the added advantage of 455 and 800 when you are in really shallow.
