Neah this wknd (10/7-9)
This coming wknd, If Neah conditions favorable (wind/waves, plankton), plan on joining some Bottomsounders staying at Hobuck campground (adjacent to a surfing beach btw). I've reserved a bunkhouse style cabin in Neah village at Cape Resort. Anybody up for carpooling from Oregon? Nice low-exchange tides. Want to get wet by early afternoon Friday; depart for PDX by early Sunday afternoon. It's the last full wknd for Ling season at Neah!
UPDATE: An Oregon spearo is going but driving separately with fam, so I'm still looking for a car buddy, can go friday am or friday afternoon. back to PDX evening of Sunday pm. Last edited by quattroluvr; 10-05-2016 at 10:40 PM. |

Re: Neah this wknd (10/7-9)
surprisingly the 10/5 sat image came through loud and clear. Neah had 3-ish mg/m3 water but nearby was a sizable amount of sub 1.0 water which could give 20-25 ft of viz, or it could be barely workablee viz (no plankton orgies visible anywhere.).
With the strong flush in/out from the straits, it could be either scenario 24-48 hours later. Today's/Friday's/Sat cloud cover might help keep down algae counts though. Brookings had sat imagery available. Looks pretty good. Clouds no data for most of Oregon coast. Last edited by quattroluvr; 10-06-2016 at 01:58 PM. |
