Re: ~ Blue Water Killers ~ spearguns , last month guns built .
reloading ..
and here is the 2nd one .. then i stopped taking photos for spearing myself !!ha!ha ! ===========================The 2 kids guns ============== while this time my partner ~G~ was guide on board a private Motor yacht and the 2 kids from the owner that were spearo beginners needed some better guns than the small 75 cms imersion challenger they had on board . the problem , there were not strong enough to load else than a 16 mm rubber .. so this is what i did on a 110 and a 120 alloy Edge .. nevertheless after almost 15 days of practicing with ~G~ , Sam from CA was able to kill shot and land 2 dogtooth tunas ..here is a photo from the smallest one !! =======================TAPU 140 ====================== may be some of you would remember that the best ever World champion in the past as been Mr Jean TAPU , world champ in Cuba , nobody as to day landed as many fishes as he did in a comp ... he has teach all his tricks and technical to his little son Tyrone who is living on the same atoll ,Apataki , where he still live and sometimes still spear with his old tahitian style wood gun ...he is very old now .. what ever Tyrone ask me for a simple , good , and not too expensive gun for big doggies with a spear that could be released ...so he will not loose his gun that what he did 2 weeks ago on an estimate 150 Lbs dogtooth in Apataki same day when spearing with ~G~ who did land the 43 kgs that is in photo there http://spearboard.com/showthread.php...87#post1242687 so i put this together for him : a 140 cms alloy Edge barrel with a Picasso handle and a RA muzzle . 2 x short 16 mm rubbers and a 7,5 mm spring steel shaft from Orca . and a simple breakaway system ..same as the one i use myself on some my carbon guns |

Hey Marco, nice equipment I must say you guys really enjoy close muzzle spearguns over there. What gives ? fast reloading ? Also surprised to see amber bands in some of the guns, just because the rumors on their current life span that's all.

Re: ~ Blue Water Killers ~ spearguns , last month guns built .
sorry no ..anyhow my guns are 95 % made for French Polynesian market for the moment and exporting them would increase too much their costs .
may be later if the transportation could not be an issue any more . Best is to come over here for a spearing vacations and buy one while yr stay. Man-o-War , Sorry yes i could , but i did give my word ; to the one who did teach me How to ; about not saying ..and this person is Tony Heugh also i believe those are small secrets that can make some differences .. Armandoz .. white vs black rubber >> i myself prefer naturals ..are bit more progressive and their life time is usually bit longer than blacks under the sun in a warm country . closed muzzles ..> lot faster to reload . open muzzles > by example try to reload one in reef fishing in 3/6 feet water with 6 feet swell .. rgds Marco |

CLOSE MUZZLE FTW! I will revert my setup because I'm tired of the reloading process with open muzzle. |

Re: ~ Blue Water Killers ~ spearguns , last month guns built .
Marco and I have gotten into the open vs. closed debate before, no point in rehashing it. Personally, I think it's down to what you're used (or naturally inclined to) to rather than something scientific and objective for everyone.
Marco- last time we talked we both mentioned the possibility of magnet installation on a pipe gun's open muzzle. I tried this on my CF Aimrite, it has worked out wonderfully. Not that I had any significant loading problems before, though. Just stick the shaft through the bands while holding it mid-barrel, move it in the general direction of the track, it sticks on, then slide it down to the mech. No careful inserting or sliding anything into a tiny muzzle or mech While we're on the subject, I notice you put the rails/guides on different portions of the guns. Some covering half of the barrel, either closest to the muzzle or closest to the handle. I've always thought that having the rail/guide/track form an uninterrupted line to the mech was essential for easy loading, regardless of what kind of muzzle one has.
