Re: HeadHunter Video

Here is my sloppy seconds back dive on this spot. I got the shaft on this one and there were 2 more dives after me. Don't worry Chuckie, we are a team not a one man show. And our team leaves no wounded behind....

Too bad you didn’t have TGO on that boat Kennie. He would’ve shot all those gags on one dive.

There are a lot of things to be learned from that video, if you pay attention.

Dan & Kenny,

Awesome video, great shooting! Love the single band. That turtle was funny, I thought he was going to try and eat Dan's grouper at 1st.

IMO, that really appears to be a futile endeavor. Try as one might, I don't think that any measure of effort will suffice.
The best thing to happen, IMO, is the local organisms to adapt. I've seen a Red grouper eat one. I hope he survived. If so, then there's an opposite reaction by nature to control the population. That's really the best one could hope for, IMO. But hell, given the tastiness of their flesh, I certainly don't want to discourage anyone! Seek and Destroy!

When y'all's computers started beeping at you, what was that about? Ascent rate? Nice vids as always. Makes me want to start uploading stuff.. I've got a ton of it at this point.

I've had that opinion for as long as I've seen them in the wild. They are fully entrenched in the ecosystem and there is ongoing adaptation by fish big enough to eat them. Big red grouper and AJs regularly eat them as we have noticed while gutting.

That's mine. I kick up off the bottom pretty quick to get out of the deep water and my computer sees it and yells at me. For me it is a good reminder as I'm getting my crap together on the way up.

I wonder if Goliath’s have developed a taste for Lionfish as well. I would assume that a fish as docile and as easy to catch as a Lionfish would basically be a never ending buffet for Goliath’s. If they are not consuming them in large quantities yet, hopefully they will learn they are easy prey and do some of the heavy lifting for us in our efforts to eradicate them.

Re: HeadHunter Video

They will never, ever, ever be eradicated.. unfortunately. In the Carolinas where I'm at now.. there's 50-100 head on every spot.. and not much less than that in Jacksonville. It sucks, but it is what it is. There have been spots where I wanted to lay down in the sand to shine my light in a cave, but I couldn't bc the sand was blanketed in lions. At least the price is good on them..
