Years ago I was doing Hotshot trucking and took my wife and son with me.After traveling a lot of the country we were headed back home in south Floridah.We were around Orlando and looked at each other and had the same thought....Why are we going back to a high crime,high cost of living,high concentration of assholes turd world city when we can live without bars on the windows and leave the boat,ATVs and car unlocked?We set some goals and made a plan to escape.
My oldest was always talking about going back.After contracting some jobs in Miami recently he has had a change in his attitude.I guess maturing and having young boys to raise changes things.
Went out the other day to try out a new Fishfinder/GPS on the Fishnski boat.When I came back the truck and trailer were still there. nobody took anything out of my toolbox,nothing taken off my trailer and it has no lock on the hitch.Miami would be a different story.
I have two parrots on my covered porch.In Miami they wouldnt last a day before some crackhead asshole tried to steal them.

You're not safe anywhere downtown, especially along the water!!
Major amounts of muggings and hoards of young "element" running wild.
They'll kill, rob, beat anyone in the area.....day or night.

I did...but had 3 kids in college and they asked us to stay in the house until they were done. Only have 1 still in school so we're getting closer.

You gotta love how the Chicago media kinda puts a positive spin on the data points........How you find anything positive about these kinds of numbers simply amazes me.

Your daily dose of the surreal;

Quote:
As news of the banana incident spread through the camp Saturday, students gathered to voice their thoughts and concerns, but according to McNeil, the conversation soon stopped being 'constructive,' and a growing number of people began leaving - some in tears, other in anger.
'At that point, we didn’t feel welcome; we didn’t feel safe,' McNeil said.
Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Community Engagement Katrina Caldwell said she will be putting a plan together to deal with the fallout from the incident.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday evening, Ryan Swanson sent a statement to the school paper apologizing for his role in the scandal.
'Although unintentional, there is no excuse for the pain that was caused to members of our community,' he reportedly said.
