I am IANTD Tech Full Cave certified and took my side mount class with one of the best if not the best side mount instructor(Edd Sorenson). I took those skills and incorporated them into my spearing and it has made a world of difference, buoyancy control, SAC rate, dealing with challenges at depth etc. Not tooting my own horn here at all, but in my opinion Cave trained divers are among the best.

I've seen this video and a few others like it, very amazing config and control. Wish it was a little easier to do typical boat diving in side mounts.

onebaddago ; Cave trained divers better be among the best because if you aren't you ****ing die..even the best die in those damn caves.

It's no harder diving sidemount off a boat than back mount. Now spearing in sidemount, that's an entirely different story......

During my training my instructor always told me," if you encounter a problem at depth, close your eyes, take three deep breaths, and relax, cause you have the rest of your life to fix the problem".
