Re: Wahoo on the GATKU Pole off SoCal

Confuscious say: Not quite as epic as it gets Grasshopper.

Any halfway decent speargun and that fish would have been on your stringer.

You must be losing sleep over that shit. Wow...

You beat me to it. I was going to say, that is a good way to cry yourself to sleep at night.

I'm crying just watching it... I can only imagine how he feels ... Curious to know the story... Did they chunk? Random sighting? I didn't see a kelp paddy...

Just having the opportunity to throw a spear at one is amazing.

Lol.

Next time you're thinking about taking out the polespear with visions of landing that epic fish, just remember this video.

Re: Wahoo on the GATKU Pole off SoCal

Its very easy to look back and wish you had something different (a speargun perhaps) but the fact that you know that there could be a chance for this and you rig your polespear, thats the true spirit of what you do, i believe that if your purpose is to catch a fish then there are more efficient ways, but you had something different in your mind didn't you? so even with no fish on stringer i congratulate you! there have been more times BWH that i wish i would have had my polespear instead of the speargun than having the polespear and wishing a gun, when i have a polespear and i see a huge fish out of range or i miss i don't feel bad, it actually encourages me more

… one thing that i have in mi mind when i release the polespear is not where i want to hit, but where will the fish be when the polespear hits it. (Makes sense?)
