2001 26' Twin Vee Weekender
Fantastic riding catamaran with two 135hp Evinrudes, nice cabin, and great fuel economy. The engines have only 350 hours and run great. This boat is fully loaded and upgraded to be the perfect fishing/diving machine. The boat is a 2001 model and one of the best production years for Twin Vee - very solid. Boat is stormed in Oxnard, CA.
This is probably one of the best riding and driest boats I have owned. The low freeboard is a plus (unless you are a hard core bottom fisherman who needs mid-thigh support) for diving/spearfishing as the low gunnels make for an easy exit wearing gear. 2+ mpg at 25-30mph with divers and gear aboard and there is more deck space than just about any boat up to 30’. Even cruised home on one motor doing 20mph when I had a fuel pump issue on the other (since replaced). Electronics: Garmin 12'' color GPS with integrated sonar depth, fish finder, radar, XM weather Garmin GMR24HD 4KW radar with Garmin mount and custom bracket Simrad AP24 autopilot Sony am/fm/cd/ipod mounted inside the cabin with Fusion speakers on the dash in custom mounts. FloScan TwinScan GPH/Totalizer Monitoring system Two (2) separate VHF systems - 1 radio in cabin and 1 on dash - Shakespeare antennas - Dash VHF is Standard Horizon with DSC function enabled Equipment: Canvas Top with full cockpit enclosure - Front and side curtains - Canvas cover snaps to the top, zips to the side curtains, slopes down to the rear bench, and snaps down for a full camper type enclosure - Bimini top extends back with a canvas for extended shade. (This was called a trombone and was supposedly invented by the original owner of Twin Vee company.) - Canvas cockpit cover to protect isinglass Two sixty (60) gallon fuel tanks Dual bilge pumps with auto and manual switches GoLight remote controlled spotlight with horizontal and vertical rotation Two (2) Hella deck floodlights Marinco solar powered ventilation for cabin Perko folding anchor light Ritchie compass Lewmar anchor roller Separate batteries for each engine and third house battery Custom dive ladder Rod holders Queen size mattress in cabin Bottom painted This boat has basically been completely refitted during my ownership. I replaced and upgraded the entire electrical system and all wiring, added two analog hour meters for the engines (installed under the dash), hinged the entire dash panel for easier access, replaced all of the fuel and water hoses, replaced shift and throttle cables, added additional storage areas in rear compartments, installed new white hatches (to match the surrounding finish) and deck scuppers, had the props tuned, upgraded steering to hydraulic Accu-steer system, etc. Top quality fiberglass work was done to address the known Twin Vee issues. The deck was also completely refinished and new non-skid texture applied. The gunnels have been widened and reinforced. At the same time, I had custom on-deck storage fabricated for up to eight scuba tanks and spearguns or fishing rods. I had a fiberglass ice chest holder fabricated which doubles as a bench seat. The hull was buffed, all of the old decals removed for a cleaner appearance, and a brand new rub rail was installed. All told, over $16,000 was spent with the fiberglass shop. I have a folder full of receipts showing all of the work mentioned above and more to the tune of over $70k. Engines recently serviced. Also includes all of the manuals and books. Registration paid through 2015 and I have separate CA titles for the boat and trailer. Asking $30,000. Last edited by AlexN; 07-13-2014 at 12:52 PM. Reason: price reduction |

Re: 2001 26' Twin Vee Weekender with Trailer
Alex, I hope you get this message before you head out to the boat. It will be helpful to see the photo of Evinrude model number plate.
At around 2001, Envinrude was bought out by Bombardier from OMC. The general consensus from what I am reading is that Bombardier Envinrude is superior in quality than OMC Evinrude. Thanks.

Re: 2001 26' Twin Vee Weekender with Trailer
Pictures attached showing these are the OMC versions. I read up a lot prior to purchasing the boat a few years ago and was concerned about the reputation of the FICHT motors online. But they are 14 years old now and I think would have exploded, blown up, overheated, etc. by now if there was an issue. I have all of the emails/pictures from the previous owner. He only had to replace a water pump and do regular service. I have had them serviced, just had a leak in the port lower unit repaired (seal had gone bad), and replaced a fuel pump (which was the only time I personally experienced any running issues). They start up every time, run quietly and cleanly, and deliver pretty good fuel mileage. I have been 60 miles out and never worried once about being able to get home.

Re: 2001 26' Twin Vee Weekender with Trailer
I haven't had anyone even come to take a look yet so I have it into the mechanic for its annual checkup. Great dive boat that is ready to go to a new home. Now priced at $25,000.
