My wife and I dove there 20 years ago. Beautiful place, fun boat ride. Glad you were able to go.

Nice. Lived in Kihei back in 1984 and paddled from Makena Beach to Molokini (and back) on a Ryan Paddle Board. Fed Oscar the reef shark and came face to face with a healthy Tiger on the South side.
Very interesting light show at night when the Navy is uses Kaho'olawe for target practice.

I never knew how far until I found the measurement tool in Google Earth. The trip out was wind assisted using a nylon line from the bow handle to the aft handle, which was used to hold up the hatch to act as a sail. The return trip was a challenge. Directly into the wind and surface chop until a quarter mile from the beach.

Clear and deep. Looks like the kids got some Freediving Skills. There can be some good spearfishing around there, but those guys are hunting at 100+.

Thanks, we didn't take any spearing gear,

Another family vacation video of playing around on a shore dive with the twins.

If anyone is interested, my daughter is using the MAKO Los Ninos fins for this last video.

She likes the fins. MAKO sells them for small foot sizes for VERY little $$..They have integrated footpockets, so the blades are not interchangeable. $50.

We were pretty much tourists. There seemed to be decent diving off the beach in a lot of places. Sorry not too much else to offer? Have fun!
