Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Went out today WH 1030-1400 outgoing water temp 49-52 on sonar. Jason said his watch said 54. Pretty snotty out. Jason shot his limit, I didn’t put on my wetsuit.
Is it me or is the water colder this year?

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

You are right, MeTo, it is still pretty cold. In the bay too. I went Jamestown this afternoon - viz was ok on shallow, and murky on a depth. Plenty of togs though. Heard striper tail bangs, but wasn't able to see it.

Went to the Coast Guard House in Narraganset with my buddy Mat. We took four togs. Viz was 4-6’ max.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Awesome top to bottom visibility at Point Judith today on slack tide.
Plenty of togs, not big though.

I also saw a fish that I wasn't able to identify. It was ~30", similar to striper shape but not as narrow and dark scale (like tog). Unfortunately it didn't allow me to come closer to the shot.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Dived in Newport this past Sunday, took three sizeable tautogs and saw schools of bass, but the only decent size came close when I was swimming with a tog toward the buoy to string it.

Could have been a weakfish (aka sea trout), or a cod.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Beavertail, yesterday afternoon (slack tide). We finally have good viz on a deeper spots. Up to 20' viz. Tons of togs, some of them are pretty big. Saw quite a few schools of stripers, not big. Hurry up, if you didn't have a chance to shot your togs before season closure, we have till Saturday.

Those are some HOGS Miro.

Anyone take a striper yet (not at Block)? The stock assessment and local rod and reel reports are NOT good.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Jamestown early this morning, conditions were pretty solid. Lots schoolies with some 32-36" keepers mixed in. Got my one fish at 35". Vis was 8-12ft. Water was 60. Wondering if anyone is seeing any Black Sea Bass of size?
