South Texas Freedivers report Tuesday 6-22-10 "matanga dijo la changa report"

TUESDAY TUESDAY TUESDAY-----THIS TRIP DIDNT MATERIALIZE FOR ME UNTIL MONDAY NIGHT, SO I FEEL BLESSED TO HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY..I got the travel plan late Monday night from my cousine that we where heading to a new spot 30 miles from SPI, I had already prepared several numbers for that area in hopes of finding bliss, instant bliss..So we(ARMANDO, ARMANDO JR, EMILIO, AND MYSELF) hit the first spot and could not find structure or fish, I called for a flasher and decided TO WAIT IT OUT, 5, 10, 15 AND NOTHING..Then something appeared out of nowhere, I new what it was (WAHOO). I waited and dove in hopes of ending my wait for this magestic fish .. I was within range but not in the zone where I felt I could have the shot I dont miss and the fish went deep and almost disappeared..When I went back up, I started to bring up the flasher, he looped around all lit up. My brother (lucky bastard) was already down and simply waited for the fish to come into range of his wong magnum, man what a shot..The shaft entered the fish just behind the fill plate and stayed half way through making it one of the most beautiful scenerios I have been blessed to see while diving in the blue...WOW ...WOW WOW..We landed the fish and moved over in the same general area just a different way point ,,We where having trouble finding the structure so I had my uncle tow us behind the boat to look for fish and structure . What followed was something overwhelming to see imagine this::::a school of over 50 snapper , mangroves and reds, bull sharks and all kinds of shit kings triggers, ajs you name it ... We all landed 3 very nice mangroves (cuberas maybe) and the bull shark came after me, I stood my ground and he disappeared. We lost the spot and proceeded to do the towing deal once more. We found the sot and landed another 3 nice snapper, we looked for the spot once again but decided to move to a near by rig to check the action..The rig was incredible probabably holding over 200 SNAPPER along with ajs and cobias.. We landed a total of 3 cobias, 2 aj, 1 wahoo, 1 king, 6 red snapper, and 5 mangrove snappers..
