Prowler trident 15
I was looking at this ocean kayak model. It has a rod pod hatch which looks like it would hold a spear gun well. The site does not say how big the hatch is. Does anyone have one and how well does it work?
Here is a link so you can take a look. click on the fetures tab and click on the rod pod button. http://www.oceankayak.com/kayaks/sin...rident_15.html

I tested it, it can hold my 60" Wong.

Re: Prowler trident 15
I nearly bought one myself and took several out. It's superior to the Prowler 15 in regards to hull slap and dryness. It's a hell of a kayak. You will definitely use the rod pod hatch and it makes accessing supplies 100X easier than crawling to the front hatch to remove an awkward gun.
I truly believe it's the perfect platform for diving, however I found the Wilderness systems Tarpon 160 to be just a tad more stable and it tracks better. Oh, I forgot to mention that the boat is fast ! It will definitely get you out to the 3rd reef in less time than someone having to put their boat in at the ramp and then travel without wake until they get out of the port. |
