I saw on the 10 clock news that a diver died of Jupiter today on a local dive boat. Anyone have any info on this as I am sorry to hear this news.

Re: Dive accident

Yes, a diver friend of mine and several other Jupiter divers on this board. He loved coming from Calif to dive Jupiter once a year. Dive #1 he was fine and got back on the JDC boat with no problem. Once back on the boat he passed out and fell off the seat. CPR started and all rescue personnel in Jupiter responded to assist. Probably a heart attack and he did not make it. RIP Craig

Sorry to hear this Chuck.

May Craig rest in eternal peace.

My condolences to you, Angie, and Craig's friends and family.

Was an AED (Automated external defibrillator) used on the boat?

I take one on my boat as an additional safety measure just in case.

Max

Yes, an AED was used on board. It was not on the boat but brought aboard by medics as we motored toward Jupiter inlet

I think all commercial vessels should have an AED and emergency O2 on board with crews trained. It costs about $150 to certify a crew member.

Before I get flamed by what I mean, is any vessel that takes out large groups. i.e. the blue heron or any of the dive boats.
