All About Pole Spears & Slings What is it about that traditional method of the early hunter/gatherers under the water? These devices are indeed interesting and effective.

Re: Best pole spear

I absolutely love my Crist. I have used others but my Crist is my go to spear. It always gets the job done and when you use one it feels good to know that you have a whole lot of power and mass behind it. They are very fast and powerful. Aaron's customer service is second to none and he's always willing to listen to your concerns and offer helpful advice. Check it out for yourseves @ www.cristspears.com

anyone use a reel set-up with a pole spear for big fish. Rather not use a float line

You could use a belt reel clipped the to the spear...if you are set against a float line.

Seems like a very bad idea to me. Just my two cents, I don't think I would be doing that any time soon Any one got experience with a Keller?

Re: Best pole spear

I never said it was a good idea. The dude asked if you could use a reel with a pole spear...and a belt reel would be the only way. Have either of you ever used a belt reel? Just curious....
