Fun Shooting Cobia

I have been making it off shore about once a week, I only got one cobia but i did shoot it off of a 8'-9' Dusky shark.

Pretty work. Was that fishing gear hanging off the shark or tags? Looks like a great trip!

Re: Fun Shooting Cobia

It was fishing gear, my Captain saw the green bubble first and thought it was a cobia that had broken loose so i swam over to it a good 20 yards away from the boat before i saw him.

It was a great trip, really smooth seas and beautiful scenery down under.

Re: Fun Shooting Cobia

Very cool vid. A real memorable experience is spending the night off shore, waking up to a reel screaming after the first person woke up and dropped some bait to the huge cobia that had taken up residence underneath the boat overnight.
AH....eyes full of sleep, in your underwear, scrambling out of the cabin, drag screaming, looking for the gaff, and muscling in a big flopping Cobia into the fish box. Good Morning, Middlegrounds!

i have not had that experience yet I would love to do so one day though. We went out again on Friday and i had even more shark problems, i could see the Cobia but with how the sharks were acting i didn't dare shoot any of them

Nice job. Dive out of Savannah. Time for grouper and hogs now that cobia is done with for the year.

Hey sc,
I'm in Savannah and have gas money if you're ever in need of a buddy. I'll be out of town for a week starting tomorrow but after that, I'll be pretty consistent on a9-5.if nothing else, id love to buy you a beer and discuss the local dive scene

Cheers
Gabe

Re: Fun Shooting Cobia

I have one last cobia video for 2016 seas were pretty rough so we just fished with rods.
