Re: Ponce Inlet
should be legal. according to fwc rules:unlawfull to spear
"Within 100 feet of any part of a jetty that is above the surface of the sea - except for the last 500 yards of a jetty that extends more than 1,500 yards from the shoreline." that jettys got to longer than 1500 yards. or you have to be 100 ft from it. the videos ive seen youtube have fishing line everywhere. I was thinking of anchoring a kayak to the tip by throwing out a small anchor and just stay close to the boat. perhaps follow a line down and stay connected. |

Re: Ponce Inlet
I wouldn't kayak that inlet! Not only is it a crazy inlet that can change in a second but all the wreckless boaters will swamp you without consideration.

Re: Ponce Inlet
thats what i was currious about. ive never run this only fished it from shore. from shore the current seems fast but manegable. but i havent tried it. i am a fairly strong paddler. but wouldnt want to end up portaging a kayak farther than i had planned. especialy with gear also

Re: Ponce Inlet
Looks like a great day out of Ponce. Very nice catch of bugs. And no problem on the video I took my dramamine.

Re: Ponce Inlet
I jumped in a couple weeks ago and took a look on the North side of the Ponce jetty near the tip. lots a big boulders and cracks and stuff. big Sheephead, Mangroves, I'm sure there are lots of Flounder . Scuba would have allowed me to expolre a lot more as I'm not a very good breathholder yet.
