Irish Springs (Spearing in Ireland?)
I'm going to be in a wedding in Ireland this summer. The rest of the wedding party is busy booking tee times, but golf just doesn't turn my crank. Is there any good spearing in Ireland? If so, please post info on how to link up with it. I'm primarily interested in freediving, but I'm game for whatever else they've got over there.
I'll be in Killarney from June 12-19th. |

Diving in Irelans is not bad at all. Good scalloping as well. Take a 5mm suit. chrs Paul |

Paul, thanks for the info--do you know where I might be able to get more in-depth knowledge on laws and regulations, good dive sites, species identification, etc.? Basically, I've done the show up and dive thing, and I know that it's much more effective to have the local knowledge to work with.
Again, thanks for the help, have a good one. Taylor |

I have not dove there yet but I have plans to go there and dive a wreck called the Kowloon Bridge (the world's largest diveable wreck!!!!).
You are going to be near the town of Baltimore on the very SW tip of County Cork. It so happens that's where the KB lays. I was there on vacation last year and spoke with this shop about coming back to dive the KB http://www.aquaventures.ie They were most helpful and could probably give you a quick run down of the current regulations via email. |
