Sup

Anyone using SUPs for diving/fishing?Most of the Kayaks I like arent going to fit in the camper but 3-4 SUPs will fit inside no problem.More money than I wanted to spend but I can also surf them off the back of a boat for the kids.

Re: Sup

More than likely I wont be the guy with the sailfish but the one kicking back.I just want the option to fish or spear when we take the camper. That and it will wear the kids out...maybe.

Re: Sup

My buddy uses a sup to dive the kelp and loves it. From his vantage he can see bait and the kelp much better than seated in a yak. He started with a fatter more stable one but it was slow and if there is wind he would struggle, upgraded to a racing sup and now I have trouble keeping up with him.

Are you going to store them in the "living room" while on the road?

Thats the plan!Only taking three on the road.Im getting a bigger board called a Navgator for fishing/diving that can take a cooler and gear on extended trips.Going tonight for a cruise with my boys and the one grandson. We are getting underwater LEDs for the SUPs to do night tours and for lobstering the flats. No engine to break or maintain.

Just ordered 8 of these SUP lights. They also make a light that goes through the drain hole on a kayak.

Re: Sup

Learned a lesson about fishing off a SUP.Bungee or tie down EVERYTHING!I should have used two bungees on the milk crate with PVC rod holder I made for my sons board.Striper hit the bait on the baitcaster and yanked the crate over.Lost a solar light but saved the rod and soft tacklebox.Pic is my youngest on his board.Light was a 97cent solar light on 3/4" pvc painted with glow paint.Redneck ingenuity!
