Re: Shark Bite

I've had differences over the Years with Randy like other spearos locally who hunt the same waters he feeds the sharks. But all spearos here locally in palm beach have had close encounters with sharks and I wouldn't wish a bite on anyone. Hope Randy has a speedy recovery. Hope this also is a wake up call to the shark feeding operations this will happen again if they keep doing it just a matter of time, but next time could be even worse.

For sure! Abernathy's killed 2 already. If Randy continues, his time will come.

Now accepting applicants to learn about Shark handling. Need people with a calm, cool personality underwater. Must be an Ace diver and have professional dive insurance. Drug testing available through APCA. There is some pay, but you must love interacting with Sharks and divers. No experience necessary. But it would help!
Where was this job posting?

Get well soon Randy! I wish you a speedy recovery.

Tony

Re: Shark Bite

Good news anyway... The darkened fingers in the stretcher picture were suggesting heavy damage, or a long tourniquet time.. Hope for full recovery

Re: Shark Bite

The evening before this happened I saw Randy was tagged in a video on FB where a tiger bites a gopro on a selfie stick and all the divers are just feet away from the food box. I thought to myself, it wonot be long and he will be on the news. Didn't know it was going to be 15 hours later. All its going to take is one dumb tourist that didn't happen to hear all the rules on the predive briefing and a limb or worse is going to be gone. Prayers for a speedy recovery but stupid should hurt.

Seriously? Feeding tiger sharks? Of all the species he decided that hand feeding tiger sharks was a good idea?

Floored.

I returned from a Bahama Trip last week. So coincidentally, I happened to be in Lake Park Marina to hear of Jim having another fatality on his boat the previous day. Being fair to Shear Water I did hear from Jim himself who said it was a heart attack and not a drowning (ie no water found in lungs at autopsy)
Sounds like a lot of the bad luck is associated with a few boats.

Did not see any SB report or news mention of this.

Regards,
Mike.
