Shark incident at Fort Brag, CA?

My buddy said he heard some freedivers got chased out of the water off the point at Mackerricher State Park, but I can't find anything about it. Anybody know the story?
Ron.

I asked and he said he heard it from the local police department. Wonder why I can't find anything on it?

Re: Shark incident at Fort Brag, CA?

MacKerricher is a sharky spot from July until the seals and sea lions leave the area. An urchin diver buddy of mine repeatedly told me not to dive there after the end of June. He calls it "Great White Park". With these warm water temps this year I expect that the Sharks will be here earlier and maybe longer if the food sources hang around.

Sightings by divers may be somewhat rare, but the boat fishermen see them all the time. It's not really news.

Re: Shark incident at Fort Brag, CA?

I spotted a shark chasing a seal on the bottom of 30 fow at Albion on July 3 last week. I'd say he was 9-10 feet. I kinda froze for a second thinking wtf should I do. My buddy and I just moved spots and continued to dive. I was hoping the shark got his fill with that seal.
