Re: Albacore 2013
If someone has a truck I can borrow....... I doubt my little lancer would be able to pull a tuna boat

Re: Albacore 2013
Somebody speak up here please!!! Sounds like a great road trip to me! If I had a truck I'd be on my way already.

Re: Albacore 2013
25'. It's been offshore many times in Ca and Mex. I can't get down there with my truck until the beginning of Oct so not sure if there will still be tuna around by then?

Re: Albacore 2013
Usually by October the tuna are scratchy, but pigs. People will still run out for em, but don't expect to plug to boat.

Re: Albacore 2013
I got all of my gear squared away! I'm ready! I picked up a new Rob Allen 130, float, and floatline with a bungie.

Re: Albacore 2013
Jeff, you'll be first in line since you were nice enough to take me out on your boat a few times Let's keep our fingers crossed for a late tuna season. Which gun did you buy? You probably only need a single float setup for these little albies.

Re: Albacore 2013
N/M. Just saw that you bought a Rob Allen. Should work fine, the S. Africans use euro guns on tuna all the time. You'll definitely be faster to reload than my 6 band wood gun.

Re: Albacore 2013
I got the tuna model. I'm headed out on the charter that Leigh spearheaded (pun intended). After that I should be an albacore expert!

Re: Albacore 2013
Transporter, look into shipping companies, as in semi trucks, no one likes to make a haul with an empty load, you barter with them On a price And the dispatch will let the drivers know. I have sent things back to Michigan for as little as $300, I don't have the property here to store everything I buy So I just send it back to Michigan.
Basically your boat will be on the truck And possibly something else, coming up the I 5 Corridor It will pick up and drop things or your boat could change trucks And eventually get here for a decent price. No wear and tear on your truck, no fuel going all the way down then coming back up. So look into shipping down in LA Or wherever you said it is.
