Was out Saturday with no vis and after this next storm I doubt it will be better. Plenty of fish caught trolling in close if you need meat. Spearing is likely done for the season.

Out of cedar key last week. 35miles out. Absolutely no viz. it’s over for the season... with all the rain we had, more on the way and a big front rolling, it’s over for the season....

Rogers on that! I doubt the visibility will improve before Gags close on the 1st. However, hook and line action should be very good. Some friends went hook and line fishing off Tarpon Springs in 30 ft. depth on Tuesday and limited out on Gags by 11:30.

With the 2 gag/person limit. Not hard to do on a decent spot. I get razzed all the time about back in the day contributing to todays gag shortage. It was 10 gag/person and a lot smaller size. Would go on the Grounds Keeper for a weekend trip and each of us had a 2 day limit of 20 gags. Everything, was pretty much open all year round. Some of you can remember those days. At least with most species closed this Jan. 1st. Good excuse to not get out of warm clothes and into cold water. We would dive year round back then. Even in 55F. water. The gags would be almost like cold water snook. Barely moving.
