Re: New HeadHunter Boat

Amazing! A guy down the street from me has the same exact boat, and I hate the way its laid out "express" style with side controls, but I love that hull. Your vision and design in doing this is amazing, I am extremely impressed. I would love to see all the in's-and-out's of what you've done.

On her first dive trip I loaded her down with a Heavy load, 340 Fuel (filled it to test props again) 1500 ice, 24 steels and 3 divers which is over 5000 Lbs of fuel, ice and tanks. She cruised at 31.3K at 4600, burning a hair over 26GPh for about 1.2nmpg. I was thrilled to get that kind of fuel burn pushing that size of boat with that type of load.

I also was thrilled to get a 6k displacement speed at 1700 RPM using only one engine and getting 6 knots and a fuel burn of 2.3 gph for 2.6 nmpg. Set the garmin autopilot (a truly kick azz AP by the way) and go a long way on a little fuel...

Anyway, I'd be glad to answer any questions you have about her....I'll also post more performance figures as I obtain them, different props, etc.....

Hate to brag, but my buddy's boat can do 6 kts at 1250 RPM

Looks like you guys did a very professional job!

There has never been anything made that is 100% "Moose Proof".

I am considering a syndication of the "Moose Proof" Rating System at this time. Some of the criteria could be as follows:

Are internal working parts deliberately accessable?

If "No" could they be forcebly accessed with a screwdriver?

Can the unit be dropped on a hard surface from a height of 5 feet?

If "Yes" will unit survive if THROWN at a hard surface from 5 feet?

Is it waterproof?

If "Yes" is it waterproof to 450 feet?

Can the unit survive falling from a moving vehical?

If "yes" can it survive being thrown from a moving vehical at a fixed object?

Will item be perminantly stained if exposed to animal blood?

The users blood?

Is item toxic if ingested by pets?

The user?

Can it be used as a makeshift hammer?

These are just a few off the top of my head.........

Re: New HeadHunter Boat

whether its fish, or now boatbuilding, you and ricky never cease to amaze! I have been a fan of that hull since it came out, and the pilot house layout makes it a dive machine! Great performance #s too. Looking forward to the interior pics... and a ride

Stuart Daneman-(Kudana spearguns-Bad Ass Double spear spearguns) in Sarasota, has one of those, and it is nice. It looks like the pic when you first got yours, but still does the job. The cabin is great for overnighters.

I sold/traded a lot of the stuff....I still have the leaning post/seat which is in great shape and has a 4 rod launcher built in. Also have a twin set of 20 gallon aluminum fresh water tanks and a 150 gallon fuel tank and 4 aluminum clamp on Rod holders.... The leaning post would be sweet in a center console...
