Re: "First Place Winners" Southern Open
Alright got the results of the MRI back and not really sure what to make of it until I see the doctor this afternoon.
It says that I: 1. Have a complete tear through the anterolateral meniscus and there appears to be some increased signal with the lateral collateral ligament suggesting at least a partial tear. 2. Have a soft tissue hematoma inferoanterior to the patella. 3. Minimal increased signal within the quadriceps tendon insertion into the patella suggestve of a sprain. With all that being said, my orthopaedist did tell me over the phone that he thinks I may have torn the meniscus while playing college football. I guess that's good but I'm glad I played through that. I really don't know what to make of it so I'm still on crutches and can't F'ing Drive. This sucks. |

Sounds like a "Hatteras Diagnosis" to me! I'll save you a seat at the Sandbar.

Sorry to hear about your knee. That sucks. Hope that it is better by the SPO. Good luck and hope that you have a full and speedy recovery.

Good luck Casey and hope you are back in the water soon. Crutches suck. I was on them for eight weeks when I broke my ankle. But, at least I could drive

Re: "First Place Winners" Southern Open
Loosely translated, you've got a cut, a bruise, some cartilage damage, and the ligament that connects the knee cap to everything else got stretched.
That pretty much sucks!

Re: "First Place Winners" Southern Open
Nope...not a doctor... 7 knee surgerys in 6 years.
Casey don't let them do open knee or exploratory. They will suggest it, But I promise you there are doctors out there who can fix just above anything through ortho. I have a new ACL from a dead dude done through Ortho. Recovery was 80% shorter. Jason

Re: "First Place Winners" Southern Open
Alright, just got the stitches out yesterday but my bersas (sp?) is still very swollen. I'm supposed to go back to the Doc in a couple of weeks and they said if the swelling has not gone down they will have to drain it. I would much rather they do that right now. I'm used to getting my knees drained. I'm very glad it did not go a centimeter deeper or it would have cut the patellor tendon and my quad would have rolled up in my leg. When it happened, we were all looking straight at the patellor tendon on the boat.
Also I'm allowed to get in the water on Saturday. So hurricane or not I have to get some exercise in there if I'm going to be ready for Hatteras. Thanks for the thoughts yall, I really appreciate them and I hope to be back very soon. Jason, thanks. I was told that the older doctors are not as aggressive as the younger ones with trying to open up people. My doc was thankfully and older one who has done multiple surgeries on me (knee and shoulder) and didn't feel the need for it. I do however the arthroscopic surgery is in my future with the torn meniscus and lcl because they are catching. But just not right now. I need to kill some fish. Thanks Casey Time to catch up on calling people back. |
