New to NH Speargun
Spearboard Community,
I live in New Hampshire, i'm looking to get into spearing up here. I have no experience spearing up here. Any recommendations, I really don't want to get a speargun if I don't have to? Will it go alright with just a polespear? I have gotten familiar with the laws, any good spots you are willing to give up? Thanks, Caleb Edit: Any information on free diving for lobsters would be great! |

Re: New to NH Speargun
I've never gotten in the water north of Rockport MA so I don't know much about spots up there. To shoot, you'll have tautog, flounder, and stripers. Tautog and flounder can easily be taken on a polespear, stripers can but the setup you'll need to reliably land a striper on a polespear (instead of consistently maiming and losing) will cost you about the same as a speargun. Personally, I say get both!

Re: New to NH Speargun
I spearfish in rye and Hampton. This will be my second season, I'm looking for people to go with if you are interested. I just go off the shore due to a lack of a boat lol.

Didn't make it out in NH, so I chose to go to school in Florida. I'm still down to go out though!

Re: New to NH Speargun
You guys mind getting in touch with me as well? I spear in Nh and have met quite a few people from the area. I think it’s time to start a local spearfishing group on FB.
I’ll pm you both with my number. |

Did you happen to go to college in Providence? I ask because I went to school in Providence too (judging by your location) but I live in Boston now as well.
