Ran out of Ft Desoto on Sunday. Vis was 15 ft in 45 ft depth and 20 ft in 60 ft depth. Very shootable.

Ran out to the pipeline in 50 foot today. Vis was top to bottom. I could see the hull of the boat.

30 ft out of clearwater we had 20 ft of vis for the first dive but dropped after that, filled the cooler and dove a new spot. May just be able to do this freediving thing.

Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

Went out saturday at 7am on my buddies brand new 30' Andros, what a outstanding boat!
We went to a spot 15mi off anclote isl. In 40ft, had atleast 20ft viz and then around 12 as the tide came in it dropped to maybe 12ft of viz still shootable, the 4 of use limmited out on hogfish over 18" as usual, got one black and one red, i saw a big king swim through but xouldwnt get the shot : ( the hog in the bottom of the pic was bit in half by a bull shark as i was pulling it up. Tax collector strikes again

Nice job.

We need to get together and share some spots. My numbers off Anclote are loaded with gags, but only small female hogs.

We shot 7 gags and a red with 4 guys freediving a half day Friday. We managed only 6 hogs.

Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

I went out yesterday, 20 miles off Anclote.

Horrible vis south of Anclote, great vis north of it. But no fish north. Didn't do well.

It was an early out going tide, water temps have dropped. I was cold in just a skin. Breaking out a 3mm top next trip out.

Ok thanks. I'll update the vis out of clearwater tomorrow. Have ever heard of a spot called little bahama?

Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

Vis 11 miles out of port richey today was 12-14ft. Lots of very fine particulate matter along with a lot of jellies. Moved in to some shallow reefs and vis was about 10-12. Didn't see many fish today. Water was a bit cooler too

Lots of very fine particulate out of ANCLOTE KEY, water 25'-35' vis not good you needed to be down about 5' from bottom to see anything. i went south & north all the same.

Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

Saturday 10/5 10-15 miles off Clearwater, 40-50' deep, vis was 15-20' w/ lots of particulate. Hard to see straight down due to particulate glare, but fine horizontally.

Shooting off 2Shea, limit of hogs and a couple nice mangroves, but hogs were mostly smallish, all shot out of desperation on the last (4th) drop of the day at that
