Question Fiji/Indo Pacific Target Fish?

Hey guys! A friend and I are planning on camping on Kaduva, Fiji and spearfishing from shore. We hope to get reef fish and maybe some pelagics. I haven't fished in the pacific yet and I am making a list of possible target fish, here's what I have so far:

Coral Trout
Dog Tooth Tuna
Giant Trevally
Jobfish
Parrot Fish
Snapper
Spanish Mackarel
Yellow Tail Tuna
Wahoo

I have no idea what type of reef fish will be available, can anyone add anything?

To add, I've checked here (http://topshotspearfishing.com/hawai...-fish-species/) and here (http://www.sharkbay.org.au/assets/do...species-id.pdf) but I doubt those are relevant to Fiji.

We're camping. What about the ciguatera? From my research, it sounds like avoid barracudas and possibly other fish (Spanish Mackerel, grouper, maybe coral trout) and talk to the locals.

Talk to the locals. I ate all of those. You live in Fiji?

Walu is the local name for Spanish macks.
What kind of snapper are you after?
There will be plenty of emperor species (including mu) for you to hunt around the reef.

From what I've seen from the Yasawa islands in Fiji, your best bet is to hire a local that will take you out to the good spots. Many of the local shore dive reefs are "owned" by the locals/villages, and it's a big no-no for foreigners to harvest fish without permission.

Good point. It's the locals water, I always tend do dive with the locals.
They know the best spots anyway. I'm sure you will find some very nice people to take you.
