Word is they have also registered an all-Veteran team to go out and smack the lionfish!
If you see Scott at the weigh-in (don't worry, he'll DEFINITELY be wearing a Rock Bottom polo ) be sure to thank him for his service and everything Rock Bottom has done for Reef Monitoring.

Re: Guy Harvey Lionfish Safari - Sept 9-11, 2016

Reef Monitoring welcomes the continued support of Aquatic Obsessions in St. Petersburg!
Aquatic Obessions has been St. Pete's premier dive shop for over 20 years and has been a staple to the community. Bill runs a 1st class operation specializing in Instruction and training, sales, service, fills including helitrox and trimix, and local as well as international drive trips. AO is ONE STOP SHOPPING for all your SCUBA needs.

AO is spearfishing friendly and is the home base for the Tampa Bay Spearfishing Club. AO together with TBSC has been VERY good to Reef Monitoring over the years. The spearfishing community is every bit as passionate about our local reefs as we are and spearfishermen continue to be a valuable resource for us. There is no better example of this partnership than lionfish. We are currently relying heavily on spearfishermen to be the key method of removal and control until our research can provide other means!

Thank you so much Bill and to everyone at your shop and in your club. We appreciate everything you have done for us!!

Thank you to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission! MyFWC helps fund these kinds of derbies to raise the awareness and encourage removal of invasive Lionfish.
By supporting organizations outside of FWC, like Reef Monitoring, to independently attack and research these predators, hopefully a more effective solution will present itself sooner!

Thank you FWC!

What would a Lionfish Safari be without Zookeeper "Lionfish Containment Unit"? Allie has the best lionfish containment unit out there. Not only is Reef Monitoring a Zookeeper dealer but we also use them.

Allie is a huge sponsor of Reef Monitoring and you have seen him recently traveling all over the Tampa Bay area with us speaking to dive clubs and shops. Allie puts immeasurable amounts of time and energy into promoting Lionfish awareness and teaching how to safely remove them from the water.
Expect to see several Zookeepers on the prize table.

In addition, we will be raffling TWO Zookeepers at the Captain's Meeting! Must be present to win so come on out to pick up your bags and be there for your chance to win a Zookeeper to use during the Safari!

Thank you Allie!!
