Monterey ,Carmel , hmb , San Mateo coast . They are making a big deal about nothing , you see them every year , just some years more get blown onto the beach than others .

They are only around 1.5" to 2" and after a day or two on the beach only the clear sail is left

Yes, as Phil says, they come every year when the spring onshores push them in. They are around at pretty much all the bay area beaches. I've been have to walk through them for weeks

paddled through a ton of these things out in front of king harbor on saturday. had no idea they could sting. i was up to my elbows in them quite a few times and no stings. either i'm lucky or their sting requires different contact than other jellies
