Re: Mahogany 150 Tuna Gun
Thanks, yeah this is definitely the best I've ever done on ballasting, especially for such a big gun. Probably my favorite part.
But as far as the setup goes, the more I shoot it and the more I think about it, it seems like I've got the gun set up as good as I'm going to get it for my own preferences and needs. I'm sure I could play around with bands and shafts for a while and get slightly better performance out of it, but overall I think I'm in the ballpark of what I need. I agree with you on not taking those 25ft+ shots on a fish. I really just like to practice at those ranges to get more comfortable with the gun. I do the same thing with bow & arrow for deer hunting - I practice shoot at 60 yards so that when a deer steps out at 30 I'm totally confident with the shot. Would never shoot a deer at 60 though. Same philosophy here I guess. I think part of it may just be practicing with the gun. I know pool shooting =/= spearfishing shooting but like any new gun the more you shoot it the better you get with it. |
