Re: Persistent Junesky

on the first dive, Junesky to 86', why did he leave the gun down there? that was a 2 min dive, pretty good. also, I noticed he didnt kick once on the way down so he was diving negative the whole way.

Re: Persistent Junesky

@ oto_gc He didn't leave the gun down there. He brought it up from the line that it was attached to. There isn't any reason why he would leave the gun down there. To the weight concern, he wasn't fighting led all the way up nor anything like that at all. If he had alot of weight ? I wasn't there nor I know how much weight he is required. But I feel your concerns though.

was just pointing out that he started sinking immediately after the duck dive without kicking, seems like a dangerous way to dive to 87'

Re: Persistent Junesky

IMO videos like that while on the surface seem cool, they actually are not. It is promoting bad diving procedures with incorrect weighting. It is VERY OBVIOUS that the guy was WAY OVERWEIGHTED by just how he starts his descent and is seen not kicking the entire way down. Also, having the gun tied to a line and then pulling it up after return to the surface is further evidence of "cowboy" diving.

If you want to do this type of diving that's your business. I actually don't care if you guys do it but, IMO promoting it is counterproductive to spearfishing safety and irresponsible.

Persistent is "Persistent in Controversy"

Re: Persistent Junesky

The sad part is that if anyone actually buys into one of their charters, this is probably what they will get.
