Re: Malibu Conditions Permathread

Drove down to lax via pch yesterday. Looked incredibly flat but the vis didn't look great. I think the 8ft high tide and negative low tide may have something to do with it

Re: Malibu Conditions Permathread

Got in yesterday around lunch, water was gin clear in the shallows. Surface vis went to shit as I moved further outside through the kelp but the bottom was still wide open. Tide was on its way out, water felt cold, saw a 100 lb WSB but let it go because I'm too lazy to horse it back to shore. (The WSB part is a lie)

Get out there before it goes to shit on Friday.

Headed down now. It's like a lake, hardly a ripple

Just got out. Wasn't very good at all north of dume. I think the tide drop killed the vis.

In all honesty though I think it was just the spot I chose. Most other places look great

I was out north of Dume early this morning and conditions were perfect: no surf and clear visibility to 20 feet or so.

Yeah but it's about 7 years old and a zip up, I have a new one in order.

Newp. Saw all the usual suspects, lots of nice size reef fish. Was looking for bugs and came up empty. Saw a nice 6ish lb'r in a pot and a few really small bugs holed up. Bout it

Just got out of the water between CL and LC. Calm 56 degrees water with slightly hazy top to bottom viz in the beds at 20-30'. Go git some before it's gone.
