https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-05-...kston/11081516
https://www.theage.com.au/national/v...05-p51k95.html The diver was towing a clearly flagged float and yet was struck and killed by a yahoo in a speedboat. Police are searching for the driver and the boat. On the TV news helicopter shot the red colored torpedo float, which appeared to be slightly damaged, could be clearly seen in the water near the rescue vessel. |

Re: Diver struck and killed by "hit and run" speedboat driver
The boat driver should be charged with manslaughter at the very least, he only surrendered to the police when he figured that someone sooner or later would eventually reveal his identity and then the police would be breaking in his front door. The article keeps referring to them as scuba divers, but for sure they are freedivers conducting spearfishing. Nearly ran down by a sailboarder myself, the guy only retreated when I waved my gun at him and told him that he was in the wrong area, which was true.
