Some stud wahoos there my friend! I love your guns and my be considering one for myself soon. How far offshore were you? There is something about loaded guns on a boat that just doesn't sit well with me .

120ft of water I HATE the loaded guns also. I tried to argue, but was outvoted. They were whining about unloading 4 band guns and then jumping in on top of a bunch of wahoo and having to sit there and put together 4 bands and a slip tip on a 72" tuna gun while the wahoo swim away. the white gun with 3 bands was being unloaded- the big gun with 4 bands - not so much the one guy who was using it at the time weighs about 150lbs and that gun has no cheater tab or anything, so I do understand, but I DON"T like it either focus on the fish - lets not sidetrack into a safety discussion haha

Re: 9 wahoo in two days in key west
and some guys will complain about what a gun costs.. (which is another subject and both you and I know that if we could get paid $15/hour.. our guns would cost way more) but let's think about this. Guy buys that White Pearl Made in the USA Beauty. Gets 150lbs of Wahoo on it's first day.. 75lbs of cleaned Wahoo fillet. Gun pays for itself in one day.

The cost of a gun is irrelevant if you use it. Any gun you buy and don't use is expensive.
Nice fish guys.

I like that and like he said 75lbs of cleaned wahoo pays out nicely... |

someday maybe... both your guns and mine share one common thread- they are WAY under priced for what we put into them. I try to imagine I am getting 20$ an hour , but I dramatically underestimate how much time I actually spend- especially with the epoxy coatings. I bet I barely make 15$- probably less if you count all the trial and error (mostly error) it takes to make cool looking epoxy coatings I just had one gun that ultimately got 12 coats because i didn't like the original scheme after 5 coats I probably made 10$ an hour on that one It's a labor of love

Re: 9 wahoo in two days in key west
Biggest gun I've ever held and shoot is 67" - a 72" would be pretty epic to have, the take down on fish would be brutal with a fat shaft too! lol

Re: 9 wahoo in two days in key west
the white one is 63"
there was one other impaler gun being used- a 72" oiled tuna gun it is kindof overkill for wahoo, but it's nice to have the range I have shot a few normal size fish with it that come swimming too close when I am bored in the blue water- it hits them like a wrecking ball
