Re: Ocean Lore.... whats a good read

After one of the books I have was claimed for the cost of postage, I figured I would see if anyone wants these:

Blue Latitudes - Author Tony Horowitz replicates the journey of Captain Cook
The Whale Warriors - Peter Heller
The Happiest Man in the World, an account of the life of Poppa Neutrino - Alec Wilkinson
In Harm's Way - Doug Stanton - About the Indianapolis
Abandon Ship! - Richard Newcomb - About the Indianopolis

These are all good reads. Google them and see if you like the "blurbs" or reviews and let me know. Books are free, just Paypal me the postage (actual postage, not an estimate or any profit).

I just checked. "Media Mail" is just $3.09 per package. 2 may fit in a package, depending on which 2.

Update: Blue Latitudes has been claimed by a board member.

Don,
If you haven't already shipped "A Voyage For Madmen" , I would also like blue latitudes if I'm not being greedy .... Also, I don't mind paying extra if it means NOT ending up like the guy in your avatar Thanks, Tommy

Re: Ocean Lore.... whats a good read

I will extend this offer to all members that I just extended to Tommy: Instead of paying me for shipping, just ship me an ocean/water/boating related book back. I'll read almost anything, so it can't hurt. This would be the only board I am on with a book club, I'll say that. And I have met good people here.

Re: Ocean Lore.... whats a good read

This a cool thread!!

I searched ebay and Amazon and bought Shadow Divers. While searching for that one I looked to see if an old diver I "know" had any books. Sure enough Stan Waterman has a couple so now I have one of his books on order too.

I had the great privilege to dive with Stan during a live-aboard scuba trip in Belieze and he is an amazing story teller so I'm really looking forward to reading his book, Sea Salt: Memories & Essays.

Here's an interview.

Don, I just sent you 3 pretty good books: Men's lives, Pirate Hunters and Santa Cruz Island..... I think that Spearboard should "sticky" a book review and exchange thread.

Last time I was there, Florida Freedivers had several of Len's books in stock.
I had the whole series but my grandson I believe has confiscated them from me. I need to check.
