Bring the Apex to Oahu or not

Greeting Freedivers (I would say aloha, but I am a haole and I know it)
I am moving to Ohau for about three years for my job and going back and forth if I should ship my 17' apex over for spearfishing out of: or is it better to either dive off the beach or bum a ride on someone else's boat??

Bill
Moving to Ohau by the end of the year.

Tons of shore dives there. Not the best fishery in the world though. Great place to get good at freediving, surfing, and eat lots of different delicious foods. I'm sure you will meet some buddies to dive with there. There is a Hawaii Freedivers facebook page that you can use to link up with other divers. Have fun and dive safe

Storage is expensive here unless you have access to military bases, you can dive off a kayak this will put you in waters less accessed from people shore diving, the Apex is great for diving but like I said you will have to think of storage.

Like hatteras said, most diving here is done from shore. Though you could visit other island/grounds with a boat. A boat of that size might be dangerous or simply uncomfortable to do channel crossings for most of the year.
