There are a lot of hunters here that use Thermal and NV with suppressed rifles for hunting coyotes and hogs.I have not heard of any sighting of anything looking like a primate. If they did it would be mounted on Bubbas trailer wall and a recipe would be on the internet.
Most sightings in the 70s-80s in south Florida were drinking buddies of mine with a lot of time on their hands.

Bigfoot Burgers; now that is a concept that conjures up images in the imagination and would be an interesting companion to the Big Mac and Whopper type burgers.

No shortage of possums in New Zealand, they are badly in need of shooting.

Y'all's possums and our opossums are quite different. I didn't know there was another species of opossum. I would be more open to eating y'all's species of possum over ours any day! At least y'all's species are somewhat "cute". Ours look like oversized rats with gnarly teeth! That's the second critter today I have learned of. The other was a raccoon dog. Yes a raccoon dog. Also kinda "cute". Apparently, they have an attitude problem though because I seen where they was attacking people and pets.

Re: Bigfoot

I shoot possums at my place. When you have chickens or a dog feeder bin they show up for a free meal.Same with coons.I also have parrots on my porch I dont want messed with.Suppressed lead pill to the noggin and put them out for the buzzards.
When I was around 18 a guy at work paid me 5 bucks for possum, 7 bucks for Coon and 1 buck for Black Mullet.I had a pretty good deal for fishing/diving gear fund till my brother grabbed a road kill coon and sold it to him.

Now rich guys hunt coons on a point system.Coon is treed by the hounds and rarely get shot.My Grandfather hunted them for pelts and meat on the farm.Depression era people wasted nothing. If it was not ate it was fed to the pigs or went into the garden.

I have ate coon but not possum(that I know of)the only meat I have heard that was revolting was coyote.I used to get rattlesnakes pretty often in Florida hunting.Looks like chicken filets and tasted somewhere between frog legs and chicken.I tried ONE Moccasin. It was pretty strong tasting. My buddy was pretty wasted and finished it up at camp.I ate just about anything that lived in florida swamps or the ocean.
I still cant eat a raw oyster to this day. They look like rancid cootchie and I retch trying to eat one.
