Top Dawg Freshwater Spearfishing Tournament

Want to turn your normal Spearfishing trips into a chance to win prizes? Top Dawg Freshwater Spearfishing tournament is just that. It is an online based Spearfishing tournament that follows a similar format to the online Florida Spearfishing tournament if you are familiar with that. There are multi-species categories that will have separate prizes per category. For more info and registration check out http://rockymountainspearfishing.org/wp/?p=1746

The Florida Spearfishing Tournament has been quite a success. I am sure this series will be a big hit with the freshwater guys too.

We think it will be too, Salt water guys get a lot of the perks, better vis and warm water (most the time) local dive shops, fun tournaments, a bigger following and they don’t have to worry about having to wait for ice to come off like I am right now haha.

We just want it to be fun, that’s what it’s all about.

The buffalo carp and drum should be taken out, sucks if you do not live near a 50# fish, huge advantage.

The catergories are individual, I don’t live close to Buffalo carp either which means I won’t have a chance to win that category unless I travel, but there are plenty of people who don’t have a chance at walleye either due to the state they live in.

Re: Top Dawg Freshwater Spearfishing Tournament

You need to take everything off list except carp and catfish because that's all we can shoot in Colorado, and they are not very big. So a category for smallest carp and catfish, thanx for considering this change

Re: Top Dawg Freshwater Spearfishing Tournament

We are trying to make this tournament more interested for everybody by including multiple freshwater fish species to be fair to make it more world-wide (Canada, US, etc..)

Wyoming do not have flathead catfish, freshwater drum and wiper. Colorado only allows to spear catfish, carp, wiper and pikes. Other states have some fish species but not all. The potential winner from each fish species will not be from same state for sure if many of us signs up.

Like Mike above stated, Colorado has slim chance to win one of those categories but Mike and I (I am sure other Coloradoan) will travel to other states to hopefully win some fish categories.
