You guys laugh now, but you won't be laughing when you see this guy throw a catch like this on the dock... Looks like that is a healthy school of the green ones.

Lightbulb Re: Bottom Finder Pics

All kidding aside, the bottom finder images I posted above are of these Goliath Groupers surrounded by bait balls during their spawning aggregation off Jupiter, Florida. We had the side scan sonar on my boat as well and I hope to post some images from that soon.

Re: Bottom Finder Pics

I have rode around the ocean off Fort Pierce the last 15 years chasing bottom fish and where they live. Everyone that knows knows that there is no natural bottom from 110' out to 150', lots of bottom inside of that and even more outside of 150'. Back in the spring we were coming in from AJ/Snowy fishing barely on a plane while gutting fish and I happened to walk by the machine, we had just crossed a 4' break out in the middle of nowhere! I of course spun the boat and got a solid # on it. Finally got back to it a couple weeks ago and needless to say it is going to be a fun place to fish. We couldn't put a greenie on the bottom without a 18" seabass eating it. BTW, the bottom is 127' and it comes up to 123' the 115' is marking the top of the seabass knot.

I mark most of the bottom fish that I catch and a lot of time can send the proper bait to entice them to bite. Ditch the fish icon and learn what is swimming under your boat.

So mark some fish, then go for a swim to what they are, then burn the two images in your brain? How did you start? The only thing I can identify is bait cause they're so damn big on the screen. You'd think there was a 20' pile of rocks under the boat.

Re: Bottom Finder Pics

Great newly found spot in 200 feet. Deep cracks in bottom. Massive amounts of untouchable AJ's on it and lots of square tails.
