Re: Beach Vis

Was out of Ft. Pierce, all the way to the Power Plant and there is no chance for a beach dive before lobster season ends.

Re: Beach Vis

4-4-09: Paddled the kayak from Jimmy Grahm(?) ramp across the intercostal to get a peak at the Peck's Lake area. We could see the reef from shore meaning its clear enough.. No snorkling gear so we stayed on shore, Damn.

None earlier. The upwelling started Friday about noon. Had to head down south.

4-11-09: Took the jet ski out SLI and headed north... Water looked crystal... Could see the bottom w/o polarized glasses.

Re: Beach Vis

Junk off of Vero today. Inletmug how did you know that the upwelling started around friday at noon? I think, I need a lesson in this is you could explain. Also, is that why it was so clear on thursday all the way up in the Satellite Beach area?

Re: Beach Vis

New to the site and just wanted to say hello. I'm a long time fisherman who got hooked on spear fishing last year. Just bought a Riffe 2XS and I love it. Got to try it out this weekend, and it was definately overkill on the three sheepshead I took out. All of my friends are rod and reel, so i'm game for anyone ever looking for company on a shallow reef freedive.
