White Sharks & Shark Shield

Had a 6 to 7 foot white slowly swim by me on the bottom while freediving just off the MTK Lighthouse in 40 ft (July '18). Got a very, very good look at each other, no joke! Had another run-in off the Radar Tower (but couldn't identify species).

Anyway, just came across Shark Shield Freedom 7 while scoping Neptonics. Anybody with experience or a thought on this $500 product? Much obliged. Stay safe. Thx.

Can't help with the question but all the divers in the area year after year. How many been eatn my a white? None. We know they are there for sure. I wouldn't worry to much.

A dive buddy of ours was at her safety stop with a stringer full of fish when a big bull shark came charging in. As soon as it hit the no fly zone of her shark shield, it veered off and didn't come back.

We bought two shortly after that.

Re: White Sharks & Shark Shield

You probably won’t get much response here in this section or how exactly white sharks respond to them specifically but a post in the Florida/ Gulf Mexico section would probably get you ton of first hand experience with using them and the responses users see from sharks compared to diving without them

Last fall there was a fatal attack on a young bodyboarder in MA....was really sad.

Interested in knowing more. And what about the Sharkbandz? Does it works?
