record button getting sticky

The record button in my Gopro 3S housing is getting sticky. I presume grime is the culprit as I often dive in poor conditions. The other buttons are ok.
There is no real way to lubricate the housing buttons and it may be a bad idea, as it might affect the seal.
Anyone had a similar experience and perhaps a fix?

Re: record button getting sticky

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. If you haven't already tried this, here's what I do. After rinsing the housing and camera off after diving, remove the camera and close the housing back up. Tie a weight to it to hold it under water. Fill a bucket with fairly warm fresh water and submerge the housing for 15 minutes or so. This will help dissolve any salt crystals that may be trapping grit in the buttons. After a soaking, hold the housing under the warm water and work the buttons a bunch of times.
This worked on a sticky lever on my Canon housing. Warm water is better than cold.
